As this year winds down it appears that manufacturer's are getting busy again. Just about everyone is quoting on a lot of programs, and several OEM's we deal with are recieving sizable orders.

This is good news, but points to a looming problem...as we get busier and need more bodies - where are we going to get them? Machine Designers (not Graduate Engineers - BIG difference) are almost non-existent. Machine Builders (Specifically Tool Makers) have not been in the apprentice pipeline for nearly a generation.

Clearly traditional approaches to training these individuals will not produce the technical workers we will need in the time we will need them.
